The promotional video of the new app Paper begins with this slogan: "The way to tell a story is as important as the story itself." And the story of Paper has many similarities service tax with an application that many already know: Flipboard.
First, the most obvious similarity is the design. Both applications use a layout service tax that displays news in a grid, however, while Flipboard puts content first, Paper prefers to interact with your Facebook friends. The gestures for navigation are also similar except that, while Flipboard it employs only one type, the "flip" Paper is more complex and uses swipe, pinch and drag.
The differences, of course, does not end here. The approach to news is very different between the two because while Flipboard app is an aggregator, service tax Paper, through its custom feeds based on topics theme is a curator. Paper prefers the discovery, telling its users what stories should pay attention to, without ever neglecting the interaction with friends.
Paper has 19 sections to choose from, each characterized by a slogan and a description but, unlike Flipboard, which has no limits on how much information a user may have, the new app, limited to ten sections, one of which will always be Facebook. So, in a nutshell, while on Flipboard you can freely choose the topics to be displayed on Paper the user has no control over the sources he sees.
The clean look and aerodynamic Paper is completely different from any other Facebook application, service tax even if it seems overly tied to the social. The application, in fact, it only integrates with Facebook and sharing is exclusively tied to the FB contacts, although you can save stories via Instapaper, Pocket, Pinboard or your Safari Reading service tax List.
Flipboard, for its part, is excellent in sharing. Users can follow updates from various social media, including service tax Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Instagram and LinkedIn, and share news that are connected on all social networks. The only flaw is that these updates are not visually appealing.
In conclusion, we can say that there are similarities between the two applications but we must not forget that they are born for different uses. Flipboard is excellent for gathering all the news you want to read from any source we like it. Paper, on the other hand, started as a Facebook app, more suitable, therefore, for those who wish to discover and share content with friends.
