Rambutan, wikipedia, bought at Asia Food / Jin Cheng, at 40kr / 16 pcs first time, 20 kr / 6 pieces a second time. Maybe 2-3 years between each test. Hairy matter related to, inter alia, lychee, which I often see in Norwegian stores. http://www.bama.no/eway/no/frukt/rambutan/index.aspx http://www.bama.no/eway/no/frukt/litchi/index.aspx
Smells sweet and a little like litchi, fruit / flower-like kind of smell. Fast to chew on, and tastes really not very much. Insofar as a sweet taste. Is really a quite relaxing fruit, you do not get the big chunks at a time, they are pretty good around the seed, and they need a few chew.
Messy things with a sour-sweet, very poor taste. I'm going to eat up the 16 I bought, but my experience is that the fruit juice of exotic fruit flavors ofter MER, and hope I find a rambutan juice one day!
