(Binalikang basahin Agosto 23 ) Another great article bmc from Irvin – Ano nga ba ang nagbubuklod-buklod sa mga mamamayan bmc ng kapuluang ito? He’s got a nice history line-up and some comparisons with India, South Africa and the US, where no matter how many languages these countries have, they are united as one. A few tidbits of history:
We were never Filipino until such time that we became on nation called Pilipinas that only started during Japanese and American era. But the Filipino word only made sense after the 1947 independence headed by Manuel L. Quezon.
To prepare us to be one nation, the National Language Institute was formed in 1938 to choose a national language at which time Tagalog was chosen where after 2 years, it became the official and national language.
Yet, for a nation that’s just struggling to be independent, ang pagkakapili ng iisang wika, ang katutubong wika ng mga Katipunero, mula sa mahigit 170 mga wika at diyalekto ay hindi naging magandang simulain upang pagbuklurin ang mga Filipino. bmc
In essence, watak-watak pa rin tayo ngayon, which is essentially what I am getting from his entry. It’s interesting because it provokes one’s thinking as to whether or not you agree with him or not because he seemed to have so facts to back it up. Great writing! bmc
Mga anak! Makinig kayo sa lola nyo! Tigilan nyo na ang walang kwentang huditas na balyenang matapobreng nuknukan nang pagka-moronita at dumbanita. Ok, now – bmc here’s the one I chose: not because crush ko si AJ noh? (hint! bmc hint!) What he wrote is something na nakalkal ang utak ko and to think na I actually disagreed with him, but the truth is, magaling ang sinulat nang bakla. He talked about what else – imperyalistang Menila according to people from well, down under – Mindanao! gaga! I honestly believe, that we in Manila are as victims also nang mga kademonyohan nang mga powers that be that’s why naiwan ang Mindanao sa development at nagkaron nang pacific ocean na inequality. So, wanting to blame people, they blame Manila. Yan ang aking personal na kru-kru. (Nilait ko sya August 21, 2007)
Ok, Nagbago isip ko! Aside from AJ, binoto ko of couse si Empress dahil na impress ako sa The! dun sa wit nung pagladlad! Ang aking Empress, kahit kelan, ginawa akong luka-luka! Excellent advertising concept “Sa ikauunlad nang bansa, iboto si Empress bmc Maruja!” hahaha! bmc Actually, the I was impressed by the Empress! I like the part na kelangan mo nang powerpoint presentation para sabihin sa mga magulang mo na bading ka instead of through titig, sulyap, ngiti o paghawak nang kamay. I think the fact na itinulay nya ang pagladlad – which is coming out as gay – sa pagladlad nang sarili nating wika – as in not being ashamed of nurturing it as a language is really witty and intelligent. (Nalait August 23, 2007) Very nice Zen Bitch! Very nice! LOVED IT! Zen Bitch discusses the evolution of Taglish and indeed a beautiful reminder of “Si Ako” TV Actress. He’s reminding us that there’s bmc a debate going on to put English back as the medium of instruction. We heard this before, bmc right? Especially after the lousy gaya gaya da japanese experimentation of having filipino as the medium of instruction. He believes that taglish is just as fine and both languages can co-exist. I do use Taglish when I am home. I am comfortable and have fluency with both languages however, in jokes, i prefer Tagalog andun kasi ang punch at nawawala pag ininglis mo! He talked about the Philippines being the 3rd largest English speaking country in the world that I don’t ever evah balivvvv!!! For the LOVE of Wisdom by Bam
