The ceremony was held yesterday evening which were recognized winners of Gieh Craft for 2012, what event was hosted by the Ministry for Fair Competition, Small Businesses and Consumers in collaboration with the Department of Trade.
The ceremony was chaired by the Minister for Fair field of competition, Small Businesses and Consumers Jason Azzopardi saas who in his speech praised the initiative and interest being generated each year for this event. He said that this third edition is being organized these awards, the Department of Commerce has received just over 100 applications from various artisans, and business entities. He reiterated the recognition that the Government has to artisans and to those who work for this sector is so strong. He said the government firmly believes in the potential of artisans and will offer the best opportunities to continue to grow and roam this area that is so at heart. The Minister said that in the last budget the Government allocated 145,000 to continue supporting the local craft sector. In the three editions of these honors, totaling 340 participated madwa craftsman and entities that somehow worked for the craft sector and awarded prizes totaling slightly less than 350,000 saas ie the over a third of a million.
In the edition saas of this year, the finalists were given a sum of 2,000 euros each. In total there were 3 categories. In the first category titled: "Work of Craft" there were four sub-categories. The winners were Roberto Tweraser for the most innovative product from his new competitor (Salt Pendant Lamps), Anthony Pule for the most innovative saas product using materials and sustainable processes (Miniature Church), Kevin Attard for Product most innovative traditional handicraft work (The silver violin) and Mary Portelli for the most innovative 'products work in Craft (Blue Green Wave). They received between saas the sum of 10,000 euros each.
The second category was that the theme "Initiative craft work" and this included 3 sub categories .. The first category titled: Learning and Research, issued a winning Candice Fava, while the runner saas up was Joan Haber. In the second category: Awareness and Promotion, Ruth Frendo and won in the category: Sales of Products Maltese saas artisans, Rachel Robinson won. All winners were awarded a sum of 10,000 euros each while the runner up was the sum of 5,000 euros.
