I had heard enough of it, sometimes seen on the shelves, but had not yet tried and did not know its history. And I loved the invitation to the event, as it was for the presentation of Marco De la Roche, partner and great known of the Bar of the Chat guys and having the great site Mixology News. We spoke several times but still did not know him personally, so we could not not go to the event
It is a renowned mixologist, owner of Drink.Lab, consultants for the beverage market, bars, restaurants and cafeterias, preparation specialist and creating many drinks with many different drinks, and participated in various events and championships, both as competitor as evaluator of drinks. And of course, an expert of the noble and Brazilian drink, cachaça.

It is a rum Super Premium, which has been around ouedkniss since 2006, and new and already has a considerable size, especially abroad. Since 2008 in Brazil, Leblon produces 350,000 liters of rum per harvest under the supervision of Carlos Oliveira, production director, and Gilles Merlet, master blender for their famous French cognacs. The duo's experience is fundamental to unite the Brazilian ouedkniss ingredients with European techniques. The Leblon cachaça undergo barrels of French oak, but also carry the aromas, flavors and terroir tradition of Minas Gerais. For 8 consecutive years it is the premium rum most sold in the world. Therefore, he can see that Leblon Cachaça is a very clever and very rum value and flavor.
Many may think that is a rum produced in Rio de Janeiro, ouedkniss as the name of rum is the same as the renowned neighborhood of the South Zone. But in fact the cachaça production is in Minas Gerais, as it should be, since most of the best cachaça come from the good land of MG. They produce on its own distillery, more specifically in Patos de Minas, Minas Gerais.
In Brazil they are distributed in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, but that will change, since the rum Leblon will be distributed by Bacardi, the giant of ethylic beverages. And how was the event?
It was very cool, the place was handpicked and very well chosen, ouedkniss say by the way. Had never been to Paris gastro which is on Flamengo beach. I admit that the place is half-gourmet-like say the crowd of #mimimi for being "gourmetizando" everything, etc, but the place has a charm and really cool story, I felt at ease on site, especially when you have a rum and quality of drinks being prepared for you to drink.
Marco prepared three very interesting drinks, and one was a caipirinha made with honey and, amazingly, garlic. When I found out I figured it was with the already ouedkniss roasted garlic, losing acidity, and it really was so, so do not be alarmed
All drinks way aligned with the Paris gastro dishes, each drink with matching dishes, either ouedkniss starter, main or dessert. All married perfectly. Below is a neat menu of the event: Reception
Scallops, beet gnocchi, scented cauliflower sauce and caramelized pineapple Baniwa pepper and yuzu salad Mix leaves, smoked ouedkniss duck breast and pomegranate vinaigrette (vegetarian alternative)
I chose the scallops and not looked ouedkniss back. Excellent ouedkniss first course. And the drink offered to harmonize with the entrance was a classic genius balcony Old Fashioned: Ô de Fashioned: Cachaça Aged Signature Merlet, Angostura, Sugar and Orange Main Course
I confess that I was not sure to choose the main dish. The options were: Fish of the day, peach palm and palm leeks sautéed, smoked sauce crustaceans and sorrel mignon medallion to the French Tagliatelle with basil pesto and parmesan shavings
But carnivore the way I am, I chose the medallion. EXCELLENT ouedkniss too, not at all repentant of choice. But the fish was indeed ~ ~ seduzente too. And the drink offered for the main course was with acai: Amazon Bramble: Leblon Cachaça, acai liqueur Cedilla, Mix Citrus and Acai Dessert
At that time I was a little afraid, since I am diabetic. But I opened an exception and ended up eating one of the desserts, I deserve it uahuahauha: Crème Brulée Louis XV (mouse Belgian chocolate semisweet with crispy crust, chocolate dacquoise
